A couple months ago, I went to see my drummer Matt give a seminar at a music industry event. He led a great talk on how musicians should set their rate.

After the seminar, we walked over to watch an interview of John Densmore of The Doors. On the way over, Matt asked what song we would be doing next.

I said I had a Cream/Mountain/Gov't Mule type song for us next. Matt asked who was doing the bass on these songs. I told him I was.

Matt then said "I'm friends with Jorgen Carllson, the former bassist for Gov't Mule, maybe we can get him".

I thought to myself "yeah, that's gonna happen". Well it did happen!

I'm stoked to share with you "How The West Was Won". Jorgen and Matt really made this song come alive. Now I want to play this LIVE with them!

maybe we can get him".

Zebulon and his family set out west, Ohio River

River pirates soon attacked

Zebulon lost everything he ever had

But I could live alone in the mountains

I could do this all without you

I could build up a fortune

I'm not afraid like you

It's How The West Was Won

How The West Was Won

Civil War left him weak

Zebulon hopped a train and fled the East

Buffalo, Mountain Men, Arapaho campin' on the river bend

But I could live alone in the mountains

I could do this all without you

I could build up a fortune

I'm not afraid like you

It's How The West Was Won

How The West Was Won

JORGEN BASS SOLO!

ARLO GUITAR SOLO!

MATT DRUM POWER!

Years go by old Zeb retreats

Gold he found, deep within the mountains keep

Bandits, Robbers set a trap

Now Zeb's too smart, he could never fall for that

I could live alone in the mountains

I could do this all without you

I could build up a fortune

I'm not afraid like you

I could live alone in the mountains

I could do this all without you

I could build up a fortune

I'm not afraid like you, oh no

It's How the West was Won

It's How the West was Won
